Evendale Fine Art Exhibit 2013

Join us at the Recreation Center in the Evendale Municipal Complex for our annual Fine Art Exhibit, this year juried by locally known artist Robert Hebenstreit.

This is the premiere event of the Cultural Arts Center! Don’t miss it! Over 145 art pieces, plus some amazing pieces available for sale. Works include paintings, watercolors, pastels, sculpture, calligraphy and more.

We are going to study Jean-Baptiste Greuze 1725-1805. He was a painter of mythology, domestic drama and portraits including Mozart and Benjamin Franklin.

The three images we will be painting are “The White Hat”, “A Student” or “Young Knitter Asleep”

I think they are very strong examples of his work. Let me know which one you would like to work on and I’ll have your reference ready for the workshop

Family, Food and LEGOS Family, Food & Legos!

Cost:  free.            Target age:  3-103.

Come to the Art Center between 6-8pm with a picnic dinner and your Legos/ Duplos.  (Loaner Legos will be available- call 563.1350 or to reserve some.)  Eat while building your finest sculpture with your family.

Then return on Sunday, March 10 to see your work displayed at our first  Lego Art Exhibit at 2 pm.

Stay for a special performance of  “Rosa Parks”  by The Cincinnati Children’s Theater at 3pm.  Can’t wait to see you there!

On view at the Evendale Cultural Arts Center for one weekend only will be the work of three artists who explore divergent paths of the painted image. Please join the artists for an opening reception on Friday, March 1 from 6-9 pm.  The show continues March 2-3 and is open from 12 noon – 4 pm both days.

"Farm" - Jody BallJody Ball lives and paints on a small farm overlooking the Little Miami River Valley. Her art is a mix of realism with softened edges combined with subjects that excite her heart. Primarily using oil and pastels, she states, “Art is an inborn passion for me. I am possessed with the colors, forms, and textures that are possible in the creation of two-dimensional art.” She has studied under Doug Dawson, Linda Fisher, and Daryl Urig.

 P.A. Haslit lives and paints in Evendale. Her vision is to paint simple, ordinary objects revealing their uniqueness in a fresh and "Barn" - P.A. Haslitspontaneous manner. Her technique is that of the Old Masters, glazing layer after layer of oils to realize a conversation with color that is exciting and intriguing. She has studied under Robert & Carin Hebenstreit, David Mueller, C.F. Payne, and Elmer Ruff.

 LuAnna Klote lives in Mason and is inspired to paint from her travels. Her art is a mix of landscapes and flowers painted to catch the brilliant sunlight to create peaceful, lovely paintings. She has studied under Ray Hassard, Ken Landon Buck, C.F. Payne and Merlene Schain.

Evendale Fine Arts Annual Exhibit 2013

The EFAE 2013 exhibit will be held in the Evendale Recreation Center. Artists’ Reception will be held Friday May 3, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.

Artist’s must live within a 50-mile radius of Evendale, be at least 21 years of age, and be working currently in original paintings, pastels, sketches, etchings or sculpture. Artists may submit up to three pieces of artwork completed in the last three years. Giclées, prints, photographs or computer generated art will not be considered.

Nationally known artist Robert Hebenstreit will sit as juror for the selection and awards process. New in 2013 is the awarding of prizes: $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place, $100 for 3rd place.

Early Bird POSTMARKED deadline is Saturday, March 2, 2013 and the Extended POSTMARKED Deadline is Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Artworks Evendale Mural Project Grand Reveal and Open House

Food, Art Activities, Open House & Loads of Family Fun!!

Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of family fun at the Evendale Cultural Arts Center. Internationally known artist and Evendale resident C.F. Payne designed two murals that represent the spirit and character of the Village of Evendale. Led by Evendale resident Jodi Kessler, a team of talented student artists from ArtWorks painted the murals based on these designs. The murals will be displayed on the front of the Cultural Arts Center.  Signed giclèes of the murals will be available to purchase for $60.00 each.

Join us for food, refreshments, entertainment, music, exhibits, hands on activities and more. Many of our instructors will be on hand to talk with attendees about classes and other offerings at the center. C.F. Payne will exhibit some of his recent works. In the Lower Studio enjoy a youth exhibit of art generated from summer classes at the center.

Mr. Payne’s artwork has been featured on the covers of the Readers Digest, Time Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, Sports Illustrated, US News and World Report, and MAD Magazine.

His work has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC,  the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA and in a one-man show at the Cincinnati Art Museum in Cincinnati, OH, to name a few.

Landscape Composition Workshop

Learn to create beautiful landscape compositions with this exciting weekend workshop with internationally known artist C. F. Payne. This fun and unique workshop will provide you with the knowledge you need to take any reference photo and turn it into a beautiful and pleasing painting composition.

Students will be asked to bring in their own drawing and painting supplies, and several landscape reference photos that they would like to develop into beautiful compositions for future paintings.

C. F. Payne’s artwork has been featured on the covers of the Readers Digest, Time Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, Sports Illustrated, U.S. News and World Report, and MAD Magazine.

Opening Night Music

The Opening Reception of the Evendale Fine Arts Exhibit 2012  welcomes the general public, artists’ families and friends. Community Room of the Evendale Recreation Center.

The annual Evendale Fine Art Exhibit is sponsored by the Village of Evendale, the Evendale Cultural Arts Center, and the Evendale Recreation Department.

More than 80 artists are exhibiting original artworks in this show juried by internationally known local artist David Mueller.  Join us for is an exciting mix of works from both seasoned and emerging artists in this diverse show.

This exhibit serves to promote and encourage the appreciation of art in our local community, providing a public forum for area artists to share ideas, sell and exhibit their artwork.

The ABC Trio made up of Atarah Jablonsky, Bernice Robinson, and Christine Nichols, will provide accompaniment for the opening reception. Evendale resident and harpist, Hanna Hales will play as well.
